Theres a particularly cruel joke circulating in Scotland suggesting Nancy is actually some non qualified illegal asylum seeker who crossed the English Channel from France in November amongst the thousands arriving weekly on British shores. I've no doubt the man is a really decent human being and clearly doesn't warrant such cruel comments.
However, his football mismanagement has now reached comical proportions in record time. I've followed my club for over 50 years during which time I've attended matches regularly from the late 1970's standing in the old ' Jungle ' and held a season ticket for longer than I care to remember.
I've endured the cheating years of David Murrays decade of fraudulent Rangers contracts / tax avoidance within Scottish football followed by an indulgence of Celtics modern day domination of our national sport. During this half century I've experienced plenty of highs and lows. As a fan I accept no club is entitled to win every game or competition. Thats the beauty of our sport - no guarantees.
What I do expect from the Celtic manager and players is fast attacking football in the traditional ' Glasgow Celtic Way '. I do not pay hard earned cash to constantly being subjected to watch Liam Scales, Auston Trusty and Anthony Ralston repeatedly mis-control the ball then inevitably kick it out of play. Nor do I enjoy watching them constantly play side ways and pass backs between themselves for large portion of the match ignorant of the concept a team needs to score goals during a football match to win.
Celtic obviously do not have the quality footballer to play defence in a 3-5-2 formation. None of our past transfers have been geared towards that style of football. It's akin to square pegs in round holes with an idiot in charge of the shapes.
I can honestly opine I've never witnessed such an incompetent allegedly qualified football manager serve up such naive, absolute garbage unentertaining football in every department.
His win rate with the countrys most expensive group of players doesn't merit a mention. His predecessor beat all domestic opponents with ease weeks prior to Nancys arrival. The blame for all our regular catastrophic defeats lies firmly at the managers feet. Defeat by sevco at home on 3rd January 2026 must surely require Nancys resignation. How can it even be possible for him to stay ? Celtics total capitulation on the field of play since Nancys arrival is simply breathtaking.
Questions must now be asked not only of the Board of Directors responsible for appointing the worst Celtic manager in our clubs history but accountability from Dermot Desmond the clubs major whilst minority shareholder.
I actually fear for Nancys mental health in a few days time. Be rest assured the fans have had enough of his comedy act. If he plays the same formation and beaten by the fraudster club at home then I wouldn't envy his position. Standing all alone at the side of the pitch listening to 60,000 outraged Celtic fans baying for his blood will prove an ugly sight whilst the world looks on.
The good news is that once Nancy becomes nothing more than a distant nightmare then change will inevitably come with time be it with new investors or Board of Directors. Celtic have two directors with more than 40 years between them - talk about being stagnant. That cannot be good for any business as all companies have to move with the times. We need a real football manager plus fresh blood at board level with fresh modern ideas of the way forward. I only wish the players knew the same.
