Celtic FC were scheduled to change sponsorship contracts from season 2002-2003 (ntl:home Digital TV) to 2003-2004 (Carling) 

Instead of creating a new 3rd shirt for the occasion they decided to utilise the remaining unsponsored Away Shirts from the previous season. The club added the new 'Carling' felt type sponsorship logo thereby creating the new 3rd shirt for the 2003-2004 season.

I believe I'm correct in saying the players wore this updated kit for the first time in a pre-season friendly game in Sweden against Kungshamn/Smogen Select side which we won 7-0
