Congratulations this afternoon goes to Neil Lennon and the heroics shown initially by the starting 11 then finishing 10 players in todays Betfred League Cup Final played in torrential conditions at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

Scotlands most successful existing club played the debt ridden seven year old team referred to as ' The Rangers '.

The bhoys took the lead in the 60th minute courtesy of a Christopher Jullien side foot shot into the net. Three minutes later, the referee Willie Collum correctly awarded The Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos a penalty after Jeremie Frimpong was adjudged to have fouled him in the penalty box. Collum then sent off the teenage Celtic defender and the bhoys were down to 10 men on an energy sapping pitch with over 30 minutes left to play.

Morelos, knowing he couldn't miss from the penalty spot whilst conscious of the reputation that he had never scored against Celtic, grabbed the ball and placed it on the penalty spot. Celtics man of the match Fraser Forster on the other hand decided differently and saved the penalty. The bhoys doggedly played out the remaining time, collected their medals and silverware and sent the fans home happy.
